Scottish Executive national guidance "Protecting Children and Young People: Child Protection Committees" sets out the core business for Child Protection Committees, one of which is Training and Staff Development.

It states that "Training and staff development for those working with children and families must be undertaken at both a single agency and inter-agency level, particularly in respect of child protection.  CPCs are responsible for promoting, commissioning and assuring the quality and delivery of inter-agency training".

Fife Child Protection Committee through its Training Working Group has an overview of single agency child protection training and considers the implicatons for inter-agency training.  An Inter Agency Child Protection Training Programme is in place and this is continually reviewed to ensure training is relevant, effective and consistent.  Training is provided for practitioners, managers, non statutory agencies and for CPC members themselves.  You can view the Inter Agency Training Programme for 2012 - 2013 at the link below.
