The next phase of planned maintenance works on part of the heating pipework at Victoria Hospital will begin shortly.
The works will see the replacement of part of the pipework in Phase 3, which is intended to improve the resilience of the heating system and facilitate easier maintenance in years to come.
To allow work to be carried out on the outside of the building, the exterior entrance to A&E will be closed from:
- 7am to 5pm on Wednesday 27th March
- 7am to late afternoon on Thursday 28th March
In addition, there will be no parking available at Car Park J outside AU1/2 entrances on these dates.

Detailed planning has been undertaken, with a phased approach to the programme to minimise disruption for patients, staff and visitors. It is not anticipated that the works will cause any significant disruption to services. The works began in June 2023 and are expected to take around 18 months to complete.
