FIFECHILDREN'S PANEL ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Fife Children's Panel Advisory Committee (the CPAC) is currently seeking applications from local people who may be interested in joining the Committee on a voluntary basis.

CPACs have an integral role to play in the operation of the Children's Hearings System which deals with children and young people under 16 and, in some cases, under 18 who are in need of care and protection or who have offended.

FionaTowns, Joint Chair of the CPAC explained: “The main duties involve recommending the appointment and re-appointment of children's panel members to the Scottish Government, monitoring panel members' performance throughout the year and advising the Scottish Government on matters concerning the Children's Hearings System.

“No formal qualifications are required as training is provided.  However, we are looking for volunteers with a background involving interviewing skills and performance monitoring as well as good daytime availability”

While these are not paid positions, travel and certain other expenses will be met in accordance with national guidelines.

If you are interested, please contact Elizabeth Mair on 08451 555555 Ext. 442304 or email Elizabeth.mair@fife.gov.uk for further information and an application form which should be returned by Friday, 6th July, 2012.
