Adamson Hospital, Bank Street, Cupar,KY15 4JGTel: 01334 652901
Facility Type: Hospital
The Adamson hospital is a small community hospital which was established in 1904 and admitted its first patients in that year. Over the years the hospital has grown and in the 1970s a health centre was added which housed 2 GP practices. In 2009 a major redevelopment project began, which has resulted in some services having to move off site to temporary accommodation on the Stratheden campus. The services currently remaining on the original site are the GP practices, Outpatients, Treatment room and Minor Injuries unit. Hopefully all services will be reunited when the development is completed in autumn 2011.
Inpatient services (ward) are currently housed in Cairnie House on the Stratheden Campus which is temporarily being called the Adamson Annex. The unit has around 17 beds including 3 for palliative care and is staffed by around 30 nurses working in shifts. There is a part-time clerical assistant who carries out the administrative tasks for the average of 17 new patients admitted to the ward every month. There is also regular Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy provided for those patients who require rehabilitation and if needed Podiatry, Dietetics and Speech and Language Therapy are also available.
