A date for your diaries, this year's Educational Annual Event.
Title: “GMC Requirements for Trainers (UG and PG) – How it will effect you and departmental job planning”

Date/Time Friday 28 September 2012, 1300 – 1630 (lunch provided 1230)
Venue: Education Centre, VHK (Note – no VC due to nature of programme)
Speakers: Dr Vicky Osgood (or deputy) from the GMC - “ Recognition and Approval of Trainers”
Prof W Reid, Postgraduate Dean – “The GMC, Trainees and student satisfaction with training & reporting of patient safety issues”
Format The meeting will then break into Directorate or Departmental groups to dsicuss what changes are needed to fulfil the GMC requirements. Clinical and
Medical Directors will be involved to develop action plans that will take account of GMC requirements for
· individual educators and Boards, including
· training of educators
· time in job plans for training
· appraisal as teachers / trainers
· collecting, reporting and responding to data on trainees involvement in serious untoward incidents
