Comenius Regio Partnership
Skill Sharing in Renewable Energy is a partnership project between Fife in Scotland and the City of Torun in Poland. This Comenius Regio Partnership project is funded through European Lifelong Learning Programme. The project involves set of partners on each site - Fife Council, Kirkland High School and Adam Smith College in Scotland and Torun City Council, The Complex of Environment Engineering Schools and Methodical Centre for Teachers in Poland. The initiative will develop services and products aimed at raising awareness and educating in the Renewable Energy sector. The project will be primarily aimed at secondary school pupils and young people in initial vocational education. We hope to deliver a range of outcomes that not only demonstrate longevity, but are cost-effective and easily shared to maximize the benefits to other potential stakeholders.
The theme of renewable energy will achieve awareness raising and also an education and skills sharing initiative to benefit all partner organisations and all schools within local regions. Through building a relationship between education and skills we hope to optimise existing knowledge in not only the youth affected by the SSRE project but also local communities. This will make an initial attempt at identifying knowledge and skills required for the young people to make career decisions on opportunities arising within the new growing renewables sector. The target groups of this project are primarily the youth from secondary and vocational schools. A bi-product of the project would be that the training developed would be available to members of the wider communities and delivered in conjunction with the young people who have benefited from this programme.
Meeting Place
Intermediate meetings in Fife House, North Street, Glenrothes and in the City Council building in Torun, Poland.
Date: 4 times a year over 2 years project. Quaterly meetings between Fife and Bedzin.
