L.O.S.T. (Lee O'Brien Solvent Trust)
Profile
Target problems and issues with Solvent Abuse,
through campaign primarly aimed at lobbying
Scottish Parliament and Parliament to have the
legislation tightened for the sale of cigarette
lighter refill gas. Submitted a petition to the
Scottish Parliament, 15,000 signatures, attended
the Chamber in person and confronted the
petitions committee. As a result of motions put
forward on L.O.S.T's behalf, a pilot scheme is to
commence at Fife Council's Trading Standards
Service for the test purchasing of Cigarette
Lighter Refill Gas, to use under 18's as decoys
in shops. This will hopefully lead to a change
in the law. L.O.S.T also aims to raise wareness
in Fife and throughout Scotland on Solvent Abuse
issues, help educate youngsters, parents and
retailers and provide support locally.
