Burntisland Annual Heritage Exhibition

Visitors will be able to view videos and large collections of historical material relating to the town's fascinating history.

The annual exhibition for 2013 will be "BURNTISLAND AT PLAY".

The exhibition features the story of many of the town's clubs, groups and organisations which have been active in the town over the past 100 years. These include golf, swimming, cricket, drama, the pipe band, youth groups and many more.

For many years Burntisland Heritage has been collecting material and photographs on Burntisland's comprehensive social history. Following a summer exhibition which featured "Schooldays" in 2008 the trust managed to accumulate more than 200 old school photographs to add to its collection of 'browsing albums'. These remain a popular item in our exhibitions.

This year the 'Friends' of Burntisland Heritage have decided that it would be worth our while doing something similar for the clubs and organisations that are, and have been associated with the town. It is hoped that the background and stories of many of these clubs will be on display following an appeal to the townspeople.

As with some of our previous exhibitions we are working with the Primary school as the theme fits well with their Curriculum for Excellence. An area will be set aside for the children's contribution.
