Margaret Wells

Non Executive Board Member

Margaret is a graduate of Edinburgh and Glasgow Universities, with a professional background in social work. She has worked as a social work practitioner and manager in Tayside, including time as a Mental Health Officer, after which she moved to join the directorate team in Grampian region developing partnerships and innovation across social care and health. Margaret was Director of Housing and Social Work in Aberdeenshire, and past president of the Association of Directors of Social Work and COSLA advisor. She then became the Director of Partnership Development and Child Health Commissioner with Lothian NHS Board before starting her own business in 2004. Since then, she has undertaken a range of work on consultancy. She was previously a non-executive board member of the Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration and governor of the Robert Gordon University, and most recently she was independent chair of Angus Adult Protection Committee and of Angus Adoption and Fostering Panels.
