Most people no longer need to take a COVID-19 test.
From 1st May 2022 if you have symptoms of a respiratory infection, such as COVID-19, and you have a high temperature or do not feel well enough to go to work or carry out normal activities, you should stay at home and avoid contact with other people until you no longer have a high temperature or until you no longer feel unwell.

Testing for Identified Groups
Testing is now being used in a targeted way in order to protect people at higher risk of serious illness from COVID-19, and those who may need extra medical care.
Some people will be advised to continue taking a Lateral Flow test. You can still access a test if:
- you have a health condition which means you’re eligible for new COVID-19 treatments
- you are going into hospital for surgery or a procedure
- you are visiting a hospital or care home
- you are an unpaid carer
- you are applying for the self-isolation support grant
If you are in one of the identified groups you will be able to order a home testing kit online.
Order coronavirus (COVID-19) rapid lateral flow tests - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) or call 119.
