The centre will provide outpatient areas, inpatient and short stay ward areas, and a 3 theatre surgical complex. The FEOC will support NHS Fife in managing elective (or planned) orthopaedic activity. Elective orthopaedics most commonly refers to the management of degenerative conditions involving the joints of the body and associated soft tissues. Typically these are conditions that patients have had for some time and generate a referral from the GP or associated healthcare professionals, after non operative management has failed.
