A new Education Suite dedicated to the memory of a former surgeon has been opened at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.

Dr Mahmoud Abdel-Fatah worked at the Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline, for nine years before he was tragically killed in a road accident in January 2010.

The suite is located on Ward 53 and features a library, IT equipment, a seating area and memorial plaque to Dr Abdel-Fatah.

Dr Abdel-Fatah’s wife and two daughters, who both study medicine at the University of Aberdeen, attended the opening ceremony.
