NHS Fife has enhanced its reputation for promoting staff wellbeing by achieving the Gold Healthy Working Lives Award.
The award acknowledges successful efforts to support employees to become more aware of their safety, health and wellbeing.
Amongst the initiatives cited as being particularly effective are the Healthy Harmonies Choir, which recently performed at the NHS Fife Achievement Awards and is due to make its Edinburgh Fringe debut later this year, the Stress Toolkit, High-5 for 50, which looks at the challenges faced by employees over the age of 50, and mini staff health-checks.
Last year, NHS Fife launched its Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2015-2018, which outlines how it will work alongside staff over the next three years to integrate health and wellbeing into daily activities to create a healthier, more positive working environment.

A team of staff working together from a number of areas in our Well at Work team have shown great commitment to organising and promoting a number of wellbeing initiatives, including fruit stalls to encourage healthy eating, staff walking, jogging and choir groups, healthy recipe promotion, and a successful programme of health checks.”
