Consultant in Public Health Medicine, Dr Lorna Watson, has joined fellow mental health campaigners at Buckingham Palace as part of her senior role with the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (RCPE).

Dr Watson travelled to London for a World Mental Health Day reception, which was hosted by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. Also in attendance on the day were prominent high profile campaigners including Stephen Fry, Alastair Campbell, Ruby Wax and Esther Rantzen.

Advising on health and well-being issues, Dr Watson has been a Council member of the RCPE for four years. The College itself has a wider public health role, which includes considering the influences and connections between physical and mental health funding research into the causes of depression.
