On Tuesday 24th October, the Scottish Government launched its National Plan in response to The British Sign Language Act 2015 to promote the use and understanding of BSL across a wide range of public services:

  • Family Support

  • Early Learning and Childcare

  • School Education

  • Post-School Education

  • Training, Work and Social Security

  • Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing

  • Transport

  • Culture and the Arts

  • Justice

  • Democracy

The National Action Plan aims to make Scotland a better place for people whose first or preferred language is British Sign Language (BSL).

Work will commence shortly to develop and produce NHS Fife’s own plan by October 2018. Discussions will commence shortly within the Equality and Human Rights Strategy Group to consider the best approach to carrying out this piece of important work.

All Boards plans will all be published in BSL and in English.
