NHS Fife can confirm that an individual linked to Anstruther Primary School has tested positive for COVID-19.

The positive case is currently isolating at home with other household members.

As a precaution, all pupils in the Primary 6 only class are being asked not to attend school and to self-isolate until Thursday 08 October 2020 and return to school and other activities on Friday 09 October 2020

Those children in the P5/6 class are unaffected and should attend school as normal.

There is no evidence to suggest any onward transmission within the school at this stage and the risk to pupils and staff appears to be low.

Anyone who develops any of the established symptoms of the virus, such as a fever; or a loss or change in taste or smell; or a new and continuous cough, should arrange testing using the UK Government Citizens’ Portal at: https://www.nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test or by calling 0800 028 2816.

There are a number of useful resources available for parents in Fife, with information on how best to reduce the chances of your family contracting the virus and what you should do if someone in the household develops symptoms. These can be accessed through our dedicated Coronavirus website, at: https://coronavirus.nhsfife.org/parent-info.
