COVID Vaccination in glass bottles

In line with the delivery of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine to community settings and the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) priority guidance, we will begin to contact people to arrange vaccination appointments from next week.

Initially all 54 GP practices will be contacting those over the age of 80 by letter or telephone when vaccine becomes available to them.  A vaccine appointment is considered essential travel.  As getting this vaccination to everyone in Fife is a significant undertaking, it is important that people do not contact the health board or their local GP practice.  We will get to you, and in the meantime, we ask for your patience.  The pace of the roll out will be dependent on vaccine supply, which will be phased nationally.

Most practices in Fife will commence vaccination w/c 11th January. It is important everyone waits to be contacted to allow GP practices and hospitals to focus on delivering care.

For general information about the coronavirus vaccine and its delivery, people can visit https://www.nhsinform.scot/healthy-living/immunisation/vaccines/coronavirus-covid-19-vaccine, or phone 0800 030 8013 (available 8.00am to 8.00pm, seven days a week).  It will not be possible to book or change vaccine appointments via this helpline.
