Care Home Imms Team pictured outside wearing masks

Our immunisation team is currently visiting all care homes in Fife to offer flu vaccination and COVID boosters to care home residents and staff, as part of efforts to help protect some of Fife’s most vulnerable people ahead of winter.

So far our team have visited more than 50 care homes in the Kingdom and have delivered more than 700 vaccinations. The programme began in late September, and it is expected that all homes will have been visited by the team by mid-October.

People in Fife are being prioritised in line with guidance from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI), as was the case with the initial phase of COVID-19 vaccinations earlier this year. Those aged 80 and over, along with those most clinically vulnerable, are next group to begin being offered vaccinations and will shortly be invited to attend an appointment at their local GP surgery or in a community venue as close to the practice as possible.

Our drop-in clinics also remain available to people across Fife aged 12 and over who require a first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine – details of these are available on our website at: www.nhsfife.org/dropinclinics.
