Plans for our new £33million Orthopaedic Elective Care Centre at the Victoria Hospital have now been approved by Fife Council’s Central and West Planning Committee.

In 2017 NHS Fife was given the green light along with the funding from Scottish Government to go ahead with the project to build a new state-of-the-art Orthopaedic facility. This facility, the Fife Elective Orthopaedic Centre (FEOC) will bring together surgical expertise from across Fife and deliver it from the purpose-built facility. The FEOC will support NHS Fife in managing planned orthopaedic activity. Orthopaedics most commonly refers to the management of conditions involving the joints of the body and associated soft tissues. The new centre will provide outpatient areas, inpatient and short stay ward areas, and a 3 theatre surgical complex. The centre will meet the need for ever more sophisticated elective surgery, and to meet increased demands for surgery such as hip and knee replacements.
