Glenrothes and North East Fife’s Stop Smoking Service are running four additional programmes of support to help people quit the habit and adopt healthier lifestyles.

Over the coming weeks group programmes, lasting one hour a week for eight weeks, will begin at:

  • Glenrothes Hospital – Wednesday, 05 October, from 7pm to 8pm
  • Skeith Health Centre, Cellardyke – Monday, 17 October, from 10am to 11am
  • St Andrews Community Hospital – Monday, 24 October, from 5.30pm to 6.30pm
  • CH@T Room, Tanshall School, Glenrothes – Wednesday, 26 October, from 1.30pm to 2.30pm

Wendy McCartney, Glenrothes and North East Fife Stop Smoking Co-ordinator, said: “We know that many smokers take between four and six serious quit attempts before stopping for good so it is important to keep trying and to seek out support.

“We are continually seeking new opportunities to reinforce the health benefits of stopping smoking to as wide and diverse an audience as possible.”

Stop Smoking Services provide the most effective type of support currently available and smokers who are considering making a quit attempt are encouraged to sign up.
