Congratulations to Senior Charge Nurses Kerry Lowe and Gillian Grubb from Stratheden Hospital who have been jointly shortlisted in two categories at the upcoming Scotland's Dementia Awards 2018.

Kerry and Gillian are nominated in the Best Educational Initiative category for their innovative work to create a bespoke training programme for nursing staff in the care of patients with dementia. If that wasn’t achievement enough, they are also nominated in the Best Hospital Care Initiative category for their work in creating the Holistic Older Adults Assessment Tool (HOAAT), which uses a series of strengths based questions to evaluate patients’ abilities and create highly personalised care plans.

Kerry and Gillian are no strangers to picking up awards having been recognised last year at the Mental Health Nursing Forum Scotland event for their work in improving the care of patients with dementia.

The Dementia Awards 2018 will be held on 20 September 2018 at the Glasgow Marriott Hotel and we wanted to wish Kerry and Gillian the best of luck ahead of the awards.
