This service provides support for children with high complexity of need which would indicate them having to be in a hospital setting if not supported by theChildren’s and Young People’s Home Care Team (CYPHCT)

The level of care required is assessed and a package of care is provided according to need and family circumstances. The package of care will be reviewed on a regular basis.

The child or young person would be supported in the home, school and or activities depending on the complexity of their needs.

The care is provided by specialised trained staff.   Each package of care would have a key worker to coordinate the care package and give further support to the family.

Glenmar is an adapted bungalow set within a residential area at Markinch.  Glenmar provides respite care in a safe and stimulating environment to children and young people (aged 3 to 18 years) with additional health care needs.  This is run as a joint venture between Health and Education and Children’s Services.  Education and Children’s Services provide residential care workers and Health provides nursing staff to deliver the specialised care that is required for the children who use this service.  There is a set criteria that the child/young person is required to meet before accessing Glenmar.
