E-mail is now used routinely as a quick and effective method of communication throughout NHS Fife.  Community Pharmacies all have access to an NHS Mail Generic Mailbox.  As various types of correspondence are sent to this mailbox Pharmacists should make sure that it is checked at least daily.  This will ensure that Community Pharmacists are kept up to date with current information.

Information sent to the generic mailbox include:-

  • Scottish Government Circulars
  • Drug Alerts
  • ePharmacy Programme Updates
  • Pharmacy Newsletters/Bulletins, eg ADTC, Pharmacy News etc
  • Safety Action Notice
  • Contract Information, eg Delegated Signatory form
  • Annual Report
  • Out of Hour's rota's
  • Lost Prescription notices
  • Ad-hoc business related items

To help make best use of the generic mailbox please contact Dawn Balfour for any of the following:-

  • NHS Mail training
  • Request an account
  • Update list of staff able to access the generic account
  • Password resets for individual accounts
