Borrowing Books and Resources
A range of books and other resources are available from the libraries within NHS Fife.
Holdings vary from library to library. The specialisms on each site are as follows:
- Victoria Hospital Library - General medical collection
- Queen Margaret Hospital Library - General medical collection and learning disabilities material
- Fife Health Promotion Information and Resources Centre, Haig House, Cameron Hospital - Health promotion, public health and management topics and provision of patient information leaflets

Everyone who wants to use the library services must first register for an ATHENS account through the Knowledge Network registration page.
Staff may borrow up to 10 items at any one time. The loan period is 4 weeks. All material can be renewed for a further period as long as the item is not in requested by someone else.
You are personally responsible for the safe custody of material which you borrow from us. If you damage or loose any item, any costs incurred by us for repair or replacement will be passed on to you.
When an item is overdue patrons will receive an email from the library. If the item remains overdue then contact may be made with their line manager or university library. Failure to return the item will result in a request to pay the replacement cost of the item.
Loaned items should not be transferred from one borrower to another but should be returned to the library and re-issued.
Any item may be recalled if another person has requested it.
Please leave any returned items in the book return bins in the library foyer.
DO NOT return it to the shelves as the loan needs to be cancelled on the computer system.
