Mental Health Service overview
The Mental Health service provides comprehensive, general mental health services for adults and elderly people across the whole of Fife through the provision of multi-professional inpatient, outpatient, day patient and community care and treatment. The service also provides specialist outpatient and community care and treatment for children and adolescents with mental health problems, and addiction services for those with drug and/or alcohol problems
Inpatient care is provided in Queen Margaret Hospital in West Fife, Whyteman’s Brae Hospital in Central Fife and Stratheden Hospital in North East Fife providing acute, rehabilitation and transitional care as well as intensive care and low secure as well as Day Hospital care for adults and older people.
We have a range of Fife Wide community based services including severe and enduring mental health outreach teams such as GEMINI and COT teams, Community Mental Health Teams, Unscheduled Care Team, Care Home and Hospital Liaison Services and Mental Health Nurses attached to GP practices as well as Fife wide CAMHS and Addiction Services and forensic teams. We also have other services such as Alcohol Related Brain Damage Team, Huntington’s service, Intensive assessments teams for older people such as the CAST team in Central and West Fife and the EAST team in North East Fife
As a clinician you will join a service that is committed to multi-disciplinary team working with strong links to both inpatient and community services. You will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.
