8 bedded cardiac care unit with the facility to monitor a further 8 patients on telemetry. This facility is available throughout all levels on phase three. Patients who require admission to ward 21 are – Nstemi with a Troponin rise, cardiac arrythmias, viral endocarditis, post cardiac arrest without the need for invasive airway management, aortic dissection, ACS patients awaiting IP angiography, repatriation of primary PCI patients, temporary pacemaker insertion. Patients with ongoing chest pain with ECG changes.

New Wing (Phase 3), Victoria Hospital

 

Visiting Times

15:00  - 20:00, Monday to Sunday

Visitors may be asked to leave between 16:30 and 17:30 for protected meal times.

Visiting outwith these hours must be discussed with the senior charge nurse or the nurse in charge.

2 visitors only at bedside.

No flowers

Children will be allowed to visit at the discretion of the nurse in charge.

 

Referral Details

Patients can be refered to the unit via the Bed Co-Ordinator. Chest Pain Nurse Specialist. Consultant Cardiologist. Accident And Emergency.
