During Fair Trade Week the Citizenship Group led our assembly and organised a ‘bring & swap’ event where pupils brought an item of food and swapped it for an item of Fair Trade tuck. We had a wonderful response to this appeal and the food that was collected was delivered by members of the Citizenship group to the Dysart Kirk Food bank, for those in our community who are in need of help.
LourdesThis year we have donated £400 towards sending one of our P6 pupils to Lourdes with the Youth for Lourdes group. Once again Miss Holligan is a helper with the group, who leave for France on Easter Sunday for one week. We wish them a safe journey and look forward to seeing their photographs and hearing all about this special trip when they return.
Sciaf – ‘Together we can make people strong’
The money raised through our Fair Trade Coffee morning in February has been donated to the Sciaf wee box appeal. We raised £250 and were delighted that, with match funding from the UK government, our donation has been doubled, so Sciaf will receive £500. Climate change in countries like Ethiopia is making things even harder for farmers, but your money has made it possible to help families help themselves. Many thanks to all who supported these events!
