Our grants
Most of our grants are made within the NHS based on applications from NHS colleagues across NHS Fife and the Health and Social Care Partnership. Applications can be made for:
- a Micro grant: These grants are up to £999 and truly highlight how small amounts of money can make a big difference for patients and staff within NHS Fife.
- a Small grant: These are grants of £1,000 to £9,999 and support a range of projects from refurbishing family rooms, to staff developing new skills, to murals in the children’s ward and ‘living ceiling tiles’ in theatre recovery. All of these help to improve the wellbeing of patients and staff in Fife.
- a Large grant: These are grants of £10,000 and above and range from research and innovation; to supporting programmes that reduce health inequalities in our communities; to wellbeing hubs that support NHS Fife staff and specialist equipment that supports patients.
- a Community grant: Only launched in 2024, our annual community grants programme provides funding for charity’s operating in Fife that will help improve people’s mental wellbeing and increase support for children and young people.

Grants are awarded where the application shows how this will deliver on the outcomes we have identified in our strategy:
- Improving patient experience
- Enhancing individuals' mental well-being
- Advancing the skills and knowledge of staff
- Mitigating health inequalities through early intervention and prevention
- Increasing support for children and young people
- Promoting staff physical and mental health
