Fife Health Charity has provided funding for patients in Victoria Hospice to benefit from complementary therapy for over 9 years.
Fife Health Charity has provided funding for patients in Victoria Hospice to benefit from complementary therapy for over 9 years.
Patients in the Victoria Hospice and family members can benefit from treatments including reflexology, aromatherapy, massage, and reiki to help them relax and reduce stress. These therapies promote calm by quieting emotions and relieving anxiety.
Complementary therapies, and touch therapies such as massage and reflexology in particular, can provide a welcome distraction from illness for those that need it most. Physically, therapy can help alleviate pain and nausea as well as improving sleep and promoting a sense of wellbeing.
"The Aromastick has helped reduce my anxiety. It's a lifesaver"
"This is the most comfortable I have felt during my illness"
"Keep up the good work"
"This has helped me relax, clearing my mind and allowing me to enjoy the peace and quiet and tranquillity of the moment"
Massage is a technique that applies pressure to parts of the body. A therapist uses techniques such as stroking, kneading, tapping or pressing. It aims to relax you mentally and physically. Like other complementary therapies such as reiki, reflexology and aromatherapy, massage can help lift your mood, improve your sleep and enhance your wellbeing.
