About this strategy
The NMAHP Strategy 2026–2030 sets out how NHS Fife will support and develop our Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professional workforce over the next five years. It focuses on creating the right conditions for staff to thrive, improving how care is delivered, and strengthening prevention so people can live healthier lives for longer.
The strategy is grounded in what our staff told us through listening sessions, workplace visits and consultation. It reflects the real pressures teams face and sets a clear, shared direction for the future.
At its heart are three connected priorities:
- People nurtured to thrive: supporting wellbeing, belonging and professional growth
- Processes enabled to deliver excellence: improving systems, pathways and digital ways of working
- Prevention leads to better outcomes: acting earlier to reduce harm, inequality and avoidable demand
These priorities are supported by strong leadership, a clear focus on quality and safety, education and research, workforce development and person‑centred care.
Together, this strategy sets out how we will deliver safe, compassionate and person‑centred care, while building a confident, skilled and supported workforce for the future.
