Clinical Lead Orthopaedics

Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Fife since 2005. Over the years I have undertaken a  number of local and national Orthopaedic leadership roles. I have been involved with this project since 2015 when we first started planning the replacement of the current orthopaedic theatres. Currently I am the Clinical Lead for the Fife Orthopaedic Elective centre project and represent the orthopaedic clinical team on the Project Board.

My aspirations for the project

My aspiration for the Fife Elective Orthopaedic Centre project is that it delivers a facility built to provide a modern orthopaedic service for the people of Fife. The building has been designed with the objective of both creating sufficient capacity for the projected increase in demand for orthopaedic services and to create a positive and supportive environment that delivers excellence in patient experience during their care. We have been challenged to be innovative in our approach to patient care delivery. This will be achieve this by using technology to support changes to how clinical care is delivered. By bringing together expertise in the management of musculoskeletal conditions within this building we aspire to embed an ethos of team working to deliver supportive, efficient and effective orthopaedic care for the people of Fife.
