Chief Executive
William Edwards joined NHS Fife as Chief Executive in April 2026, bringing over 25 years of leadership experience and a proven track record in operational delivery and digital transformation within the NHS.
William’s career in the NHS began in 1999. Before returning to Fife, he served as the Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
In these roles, he was responsible for large-scale operational management and the strategic delivery of healthcare services.
William received the Digital Leader Award at the 2019 Holyrood Connect Digital Health and Care Awards. He is a graduate of Business and Management from the University of the West of Scotland and is passionate about fostering a positive organisational culture and improving patient outcomes through innovation.
