Director of Workforce
David joined NHS Fife as Director of Workforce in January 2023. David brings with him a huge amount of experience and knowledge of the health and care sector across Scotland, gained first working in recruitment in Lothian since 1996 and since working across a number of health boards prior to becoming an HR Director. Before joining NHS Fife, he was Chief People Officer for NHS Scotland at the Scottish Government at the start of April 2020 in the Health and Social Care Directorate.
David is committed to accountability, good governance, probity, openness, and equality of opportunity set within a culture of values-based leadership, compassion, and kindness. His professional interests include providing credible, compassionate and values-based human resources for all staff.
He believes in engaging, working with, and empowering the workforce while ensuring that their wellbeing is prioritised.
