Yesterday afternoon, NHS Fife formally launched its new Birth at Home service.

Since January, the expanded service has received 112 referrals and 52 babies have been born to women receiving care from the team.

Frances Boyle, Katrina Fraser and Paula Murray are the driving force behind Birth at Home, which has already seen a 160% increase in home births since last year.

Author and Midwifery Consultant, Sheena Byrom, joined mums, dads and children who have came through Birth at Home for an afternoon of celebration at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline.

There was also a special appearance by Chloe Milne and her daughter Frances, who was the first baby born under the new service and helped cut the cake.
