Vaccination jag in persons arm

Patients eligible for a free NHS flu vaccination are able to access their flu vaccination by appointment at participating community pharmacies across Fife.

Whilst vaccination clinics will continue to run in community venues, patients can now also access their flu vaccination through a network of more than 50 participating pharmacies across Fife. Vaccination is available by appointment only and a full list of participating pharmacies can be found here

NHS Fife Deputy Director of Public Health, Dr Esther Curnock, said: “If you are amongst those eligible for an NHS flu vaccination, it is important that you get vaccinated. Flu can be serious and people with certain underlying health conditions are more at risk of flu-related complications.

“It’s not too late to get vaccinated and you can choose to make an appointment at a participating pharmacy instead of a community clinic if that is more convenient.

“The flu jab remains the safest and most effective way to help protect against flu and its complications and getting vaccinated takes only a few minutes.

“Even if you feel healthy or your condition is well managed you should still get the vaccination.”

Changes have been made to the delivery of flu vaccination this year. Rather than attend their local GP practice to get the flu jab, those eligible should have received a letter asking them to make an appointment.

People in Fife can still arrange an appointment at one of the community vaccination clinics across the Kingdom by calling: 01383 674111, or alternatively vaccination can be arranged by email at: fife.vaccinesinfife@nhs.scot. Most people should have received a letter; however, if you haven’t had letter but think you should have received one, please call us on the details above.
