In February 2022 the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) issued advice that a COVID-19 Spring Booster dose should be offered to certain individuals who they feel would benefit the most from further protection from the virus.

This group includes adults aged 75 years and over (or who will turn 75 by 30 June 2022), residents in care homes for older adults and people aged 12 years and over with a weakened immune system.  This Spring Booster dose will normally be offered around six months (24 weeks) after your last dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

You will receive a scheduled appointment letter to get this Spring Booster if eligible so don’t try to book this yourself. If you've recently tested positive for COVID-19, you should wait until four weeks after the date you tested positive to get the booster vaccine. You can phone the Helpline to reschedule or for any information on 0800 030 8013.
