In addition, here are some ideas for keeping positive and avoiding loneliness this May.

Keep the heid and read!

To celebrate the power of reading, libraries and good mental health, you are being asked to pledge SIX minutes on Wednesday 11th May 2022 and devote it to reading.

Why? Because taking some time for yourself to relax and do things you enjoy like reading is important to help look after your mental health and wellbeing.

It has been scientifically proven that reading for just SIX minutes a day boosts your mental health by 68%.

Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival

https://www.mhfestival.com/

The theme for this year’s event is “Gather” which means to come together. The theme has been chosen to recognise how important it is for people to come together, enjoy the arts and be creative. The festival is now in its 16th year, and can have an impact on connecting communities, reducing social isolation and starting valuable conversations about mental health, something that affects us all.
