SGN engineers are currently carrying out emergency repairs to the gas network in Whyteman's Brae.
The repairs are more complex than first anticipated, and as a result the road between its junctions with Hayfield Road and Chestnut Avenue has been closed. A signed diversion route is in place for motorists.
SGN are in contact with the Scottish Ambulance Service to ensure continued access to Victoria Hospital.
Kirkcaldy Health Centre remains closed.
