Kenny’s brothers Ronnie and Bobby, along with Kenny Eastaugh, Captain of Glenrothes Golf Club and Ally Wallace, Match Secretary, Glenrothes Golf Club, donated £5937.50 this week.

This is the third donation they have made in Kenny’s memory to benefit FNRS where Kenny received out-patient rehabilitation following a stroke.

Kenny, who sadly passed away last year, was a keen golfer and former Club Captain at Glenrothes Golf Club and received support from the team at FNRS and his brothers, Ronnie and Bobby, to get back into the game.

Handing over the check to FNRS staff and Fife Health Charity this week, Ronnie explained their determination to raise money mirrors Kenny’s focus on his rehabilitation and his will to help others.

This week’s donation brings the total of their fundraising efforts so far to an impressive £8837.50.

As well as organising a charity golf tournament at the Duke’s Course in St Andrews previously, the team of fundraisers have now established a yearly golf event at Glenrothes to raise money in Kenny’s honour.

They visited the unit at Cameron Hospital to donate the money, and got the chance to see equipment the service hope to purchase to enhance the rehabilitation currently provided to patients like Kenny.

Clare McDonald, Occupational Therapy Manager, said: “We are so grateful to the continued support and fundraising from Kenny’s family and all of the members of the Glenrothes Golf Club and are really blown away by the money they have raised.

“It is a real testament to how highly Kenny was thought of in the local community.

“Kenny’s determination and positivity will now help others in Fife with their rehabilitation too.”

Mark McGeachie, Director of Fife Health Charity, said: "I’d like to thank the family and friends of Kenny Bayne for their wonderful, ongoing fundraising in recognition of the support Kenny received by the Fife Neuro Rehabilitation Service. Every penny donated to Fife Health Charity benefits the patients, staff and communities supported by NHS Fife. Through the generosity of our donors and the passion of our colleagues in NHS Fife, our charity can continue to enhance the healthcare experience of people across Fife."
