Accessibility reports

10/10/23

HTML issues tested

We fixed and launched the following issues:

The keyboard tabs through the hamburger menu options whilst it is closed which is confusing for users. This does not meet WCAG success criterion 2.4.7

At 200% zoom and more, when the keyboard tabs from the URL it fails to resize text as the 'Skip to links' overlap onto text and is not clear for users. This does not meet WCAG success criterion 1.4.4.

We are working to correct both of these issues as of 25th September 2023.

12/07/23

In this report we identified some technical issues that we are working with our partner digital agency to fix by the end of August 2023.

These issues include:

  • making the homepage image carousel more controllable for assistive technologies
  • ensuring the 'hide content' feature works better

Additionally, we are aware that media content in the content management system must be audited. This includes:

  • images for Alt text
  • documents such as PDF and Microsoft Word

We will use automated tools to identify media needing fixed, where we can. However, this will also take intervention at file level at times to make accessible.

For further details on when we intend to fix these issues by, please read our Accessibility statement

22/01/25

We have been working on a project to convert existing patient leaflet PDF documents to web pages. This aims to make this information more accessible for our users.

For example: View the advice on Achilles Tendon

Additionally, we have been and are continuing to offer colleagues advice on creating accessible content.

4/12/25

We added guidance on how to add a shortcut to a web page using an icon on a mobile phone.
