Why screening matters
Screening helps find early signs of illness before you feel anything is wrong. Many conditions are easier to treat if they are found early. Going to your appointment, or sending your kit back when invited, is one of the simplest ways to protect your health.
When you’ll be invited
You’ll get a letter when you are due for screening. This is based on your age, sex and, for diabetic eye screening, whether you have diabetes. Please keep your GP practice up to date with your current address so your invitations go to the right place.
If you miss an appointment
If you miss your screening appointment or misplace your letter, you can still take part. Contact the relevant service in the grid above to arrange another appointment. We are here to support you and it is always okay to ask questions.
Screening is for people without symptoms
Screening does not replace medical advice. If you have symptoms or something unusual for you, speak to your GP practice. They want to know and can arrange the right tests for you.
Your personal information
Your information is used safely and only by staff who need it to provide your screening. Keeping your records up to date helps make sure you are invited to the right programmes at the right time.
