Anxiety is a normal emotional response that we all experience. Even though anxiety can feel really unpleasant, most people recover quickly from situations that make them anxious, and it will not have a lasting effect. However, for other people this may not happen, and they may need extra support to manage these situations.
When anxiety becomes overwhelming, we might try to avoid the situations that make us anxious. This can help us feel better there and then, but in the long-term, this can cause us to get “stuck” and actually increase our feelings of anxiety.
