Our Paediatric Diabetes Service in NHS Fife provides specialist care and support for children and young people living with Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, and monogenic diabetes. We are a dedicated, multidisciplinary team working closely with families, schools, and community services to ensure that every young person receives personalised, evidence-based care tailored to their individual needs.
Our goal is to help children and young people manage their diabetes confidently and live full, healthy lives. We see children from 0-14 years in our paediatric clinics and 14-18ys in our dedicated transition clinics. Clinics are held in the diabetes centre at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy and at the Carnegie centre in the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline
Further information about our clinics and advice, including sick day rules can be found on our dedicated app Digibete - see information below.

Away Days
Every year we hold an away day for children with diabetes who are in P7 (about to leave Primary school) and S1 (first year of secondary school). This is a day of fun activities and education to help with the transition to secondary school and a great opportunity to meet other young people with diabetes.
To find out more about the away days speak to your healthcare professional.
