Before your appointment
Think about what you want to talk about.
Write down your symptoms.
Bring your medication list.
Bring someone with you if it helps.
Tell the surgery if you need extra support.
Try to arrive 5–10 minutes early.
During your appointment
Take notes, or use your phone to record key points.
Ask questions if anything is unclear.
Repeat back what you understand.
Ask for written information if you need it.
After your appointment
Follow any advice, tests or prescriptions.
Bring someone with you if it helps.
Book your next appointment if you need one.
Think about any lifestyle changes you want to make
