About me
I was appointed as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in NHS Fife in 2007. My areas of expertise are shoulder arthroscopy, shoulder replacement including shoulder resurfacing & reverse shoulder arthroplasty and surgical fixation of shoulder, clavicle and elbow fractures.
I underwent my Orthopaedic training in Glasgow and the West of Scotland region before embarking on sub-specialty training in shoulder surgery. My expertise in shoulder surgery was attained from a 1-year fellowship at the internationally renowned Reading Shoulder Unit under the supervision of Mr. Stephen Copeland and Mr. Ofer Levy. I was also awarded the Scottish travelling fellowship and British Elbow and Shoulder Society North American travelling fellowship, in 2006 - 2007. These travelling fellowships allowed me to visit shoulder surgeons in Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Clinique Générale, Annecy, France. I am actively involved in teaching and research. I am a faculty member on shoulder arthroscopy and shoulder arthroplasty courses.
