About me
I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in adult hand and wrist surgery. I am committed to providing the best care for patients. Hand and wrist problems are unique to each individual depending on their demands and needs. I work closely with a team of professional colleagues providing patients with a focused treatment plan all of whom play a vital part in attaining superior outcomes. As a team we regularly review our processes to develop the hand service and strive to improve a patient’s experience. We have created the Fife Hand Service website to provide information to patients on various conditions related to the hand and wrist.
After completing my medical degree at the University of Dundee, I embarked on specialist orthopaedic surgical training in Yorkshire. I was awarded the fellowship in trauma and orthopaedic surgery in 2017 by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Following this I completed two years of specialist hand and wrist fellowships: initially in Teesside, UK and then at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand. My hand surgery training was delivered by hand surgeons with backgrounds of both orthopaedic and plastic surgery and thus I learned techniques from both disciplines. Upon completion of these fellowships I was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in NHS Fife in 2019 where I specialise in adult hand and wrist conditions.
