About me
I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in NHS Fife. I specialise in performing foot & ankle elective surgery and trauma/fracture surgery.
I am a graduate of both St Andrews University and Edinburgh University. I completed my orthopaedic training on the prestigious South-East Scotland rotation. Part-way through training, I undertook a two-year research degree (Doctor of Medicine), at the University of Edinburgh, investigating techniques to improve care for patients sustaining ankle fractures. Upon completion of surgical training I travelled to Melbourne Australia, to complete a trauma fellowship, followed by a foot and ankle surgery fellowship with the world renowned OrthoSport Victoria (OSV) group.
I have vast clinical and laboratory research experience having published over 40 papers in scientific journals. I have lectured on the management of foot and ankle trauma both nationally and internationally.
Outside of Orthopaedics I am a huge sports fan including rugby, golf, running and boxing. I am a serving medical officer for the British Boxing Board of Control and regularly assist with provision of medical cover ringside. When away from work, I enjoy walking up hills with my family and Labrador Retriever!
