The Urology Diagnostic & Treatment Centre (UDTC) is looking for a band 2 patient services clerk to join its Urology Diagnostic & Treatment Centre team. NHS Fife has been awarded funding from Scottish Government to develop a National Treatment Centre for the prostate service; an increase in clerical support is required to support this development.

Who are we looking for?
Reporting to the Senior Charge Nurse, you will be a confident individual, able to deal with the day to day workload of a busy, challenging clinic environment. You will be dealing with members of the public, patients and staff within the urology department of NHS Fife.
You must have excellent telephone communication skills to deal with multiple telephone calls from patients/relatives and other departments or health care organisations. We also need you to be able to navigate around Trakcare and organise appointments.
You must have the ability to lift and handle casenote folders and bend and stretch to retrieve file notes and to load / unload case note trolleys.
You should have the ability to work as part of a team and also work independently; be able to prioritise workload and have good organisational skills.
Excellent communication skills are vital. It is an expectation for you to have a calm, approachable and professional manner; this is paramount when dealing with patients, relatives, nursing staff and clinical staff.
You should display responsible and efficient telephone skills in order to relay any information to the Nurse-in-charge, clinical staff and also have effective listening skills.
Experience
Previous clerical/administrative experience is desirable; within a hospital setting is advantageous.

The Urology service has led the way in delivering an innovative and excellent service, as well as providing a wide range of urological diagnostic and treatments, the service has been pivotal in implementing new treatments for the management of benign prostate issues, this has enabled NHS Fife the opportunity to expand this service nationally throughout Scotland, thus ensuring inclusivity across the nation.
