Redefining standards and quality across mental health services

Not only does the Fife Complex and Critical care team follow national standards but we also help shape them. We believe that quality care starts with service user experience, listening and learning to continually enhance the quality of mental healthcare we provide.

We are committed to providing timely evidence-based care and treatment, supporting service users and carers, treating them with dignity, looking after staff, and evaluating services to ensure shared understanding and a continual cycle of improvement and enhancement to the service we provide.

Leading on the prevention of mental ill health

Stopping mental health problems before they occur and promoting good mental health for all are both key motivations for the team. While it isn’t possible to stop all mental ill-health from developing, many mental health problems can be prevented with the right approach. In Fife we have been working across diverse sectors delivering successful, evidence-based prevention and promotion programmes, research, and training.
