These pages will provide you with the background, the extent and scope of the project and ongoing updates on the build progress.
The centre will provide outpatient areas, inpatient and short stay ward areas, and a 3 theatre surgical complex. The new National Treatment Centre – Fife Orthopaedics, will support NHS Fife in managing elective (planned) orthopaedic activity.
Elective orthopaedics refers to the management of degenerative conditions involving the joints of the body and associated soft tissues. Typically these are conditions that patients have had for some time and generate a referral from the GP or associated healthcare professionals, after non operative management has failed. Use the headings above to read more about the project, the timeline and what to expect from the new centre.
The project mission is to deliver an exemplar building project to house an international centre of excellence for Orthopaedics in Fife, that provides state-of-the-art orthopaedic facilities whilst ensuring that patient care continues to be at the heart of everything we do.
